Dear Friends and Supporters of Love Guatemala,
Greetings! I hope this finds you well. We are have had another great year here in Guatemala serving the community of Magdalena and surrounding areas. Late last year we were able to move into the new Love Guatemala Vocational Training Center. This has provided us many new opportunities to serve the community here in 2015 and beyond.
As you may have seen we were able to start the English School, a literacy program, and a feeding center this year. This has given us the ability to serve and meet the needs of many more people in our community. We continue to see lives changed through these programs and the gospel of Jesus. This year we served 110 students in our 5 different programs as well as about 60 kids that come to our feeding center. So we grew from about 70 students last year to over 170 being served in 2015. We are honored that you have come alongside us in one way or another to serve this community. Thank you for your prayers and support! The expansion of Love Guatemala has made an incredible impact on the community here and you played an important role in this. Thank you!
With the expansion of Love Guatemala has come elevated operational costs as well. Our total operating budget for 2016 will be around $120,000. This will allow us to operate 7 different schools and programs that will impact and assist over 200 students and kids. It will also provide employment for 20 staff members here in Guatemala that help us run Love Guatemala. This will also provide assistance for things such as food, clothing and medicine as needed to the nearly 200 students we will have in 2016.
We have approximately half of that committed through our sponsorship program and other giving. So that leaves us in need of $50,000 for 2016 for our operational costs.
Our goal is to raise the majority of this $50,000 by the end of 2015 to position us to be able to focus all of our energies in 2016 to ministering to the students under our care.
