One thing that Love Guatemala tries to do, is evaluate the needs of the community. First and foremost, is the need for Jesus. That is incorporated into everything we do. From classes to activities, we want it to be Christ centered.
Another very important thing is to see needs such as, which classes will be most beneficial, and which programs will help physical needs. We realized a physical need of the community was to have a speech therapy program.
Our speech therapist is a volunteer who has been doing wonderful work. Yesika has been working hard to be able to help as many children as possible. Each child is able to come in once a week to receive therapy. Right now we have 14 children each week!
The parents are very grateful because many other places are very expensive and the families cannot afford it. At Love Guatemala, the fee is very minimal and the children have a chance of receiving the therapy they desperately need. We are so thankful to be able to provide programs like this one!
