This past week we were blessed with having Piedmont church come to Love Guatemala! The team of ten came from Macon, Georgia and spent the week serving in Love Guatemala and the community.
The team worked to build a home for a family that had recently lost their home. The family had a small plot of land but did not have the money to build a house. It was difficult for them because the place they were renting flooded a lot and with it being rainy season, it was urgent to get them into a new home. The team worked in rain and sun to get it done in just two days. The family was so happy and thankful to God for opportunity to have a home!
The team also went on many home visits. They visited the families of our staff and families from the speech therapy program. It was a blessing for each family to be prayed over and receive a bag of food.
In addition to that, they did an activity with the kids in Santa Lucia. They played games, shared a devotional, passed out lunch, and had piñatas. It was a great time for the kids and everyone enjoyed it!
To finish off the week, they did a leadership training with the staff. They all had a wonderful time learning more about how to be a leader, playing games, and grilling cheeseburgers for dinner!
We’re so thankful with this time to serve with Piedmont Church!
