This past week, we were thrilled to have a team from Piedmont Church come to serve at Love Guatemala. This was our first big team since Covid hit, with 12 team members joining us. It was such a wonderful experience to have our team rooms filled once again!
The team was here for six days and those six days were very busy! The big project that they worked on was building a house. But, the house was a special one. If you have visited before, you may remember Mayra, the lady who cleans for Love Guatemala. After a long time of saving up, Mayra was able to buy a small plot of land, but was still in need of a house to go on it. The team worked very hard, even in the rain one day, to build a house for Mayra and her three children. Many tears were shed as we prayed over the house on the last day the team was here and we are so grateful to be able to provide a home for Mayra!
The team also was busy with a youth event where two English students accepted Christ, painting the Love Guatemala building, many home visits, and a wonderful afternoon in the feeding center.
All in all, it was a beautiful time serving alongside Piedmont Church!
