One of the programs we have at Love Guatemala is our primary school. This began as a literacy program for many of our students who did not know how to read or write but it has expanded. Now it serves not just as a literacy program, but as a way for students to finish their primary education. Our goal and prayer is to expand this to middle and high school eventually. Below are a few pictures and an update from the teacher.
This was a visit that some of the primary students did with an elderly lady. We are teaching not only basics in education but how to love and minister to people.
In the literacy school there are students of different ages, and everyone has the desire for personal improvement. Most of them are from a low income, and some did not have the opportunity to play and be in a school when they were small.
In the classroom there is a 15-year-old young lady. She is struggling to learn and be able to earn her primary education. For her, it is a dream to continue with her studies, and unfortunately, she does not have the support of her parents. The only one who is at her side and who believes in her is her grandmother, but she is positive and always smiling. It is a blessing to support these young people who have dreams and who fight against the negative things that others may say.
Thanks to God the students have a creative and dynamic teacher. Now the students have homework where they are exposed to the different tasks where they can use their own creativity. They also use the computers for their research, Thanks to God, the students are learning more and more everyday.
