Bringing Hope since 2006

In 2006, Carlos & Telma Lopez began teaching art to three students in the Magdalena, Guatemala community at their home. Shortly after, Indy Metro Church in Indianapolis, Indiana came alongside them and helped facilitate the growth and development of their art school into what is now Love Guatemala: an accredited trade school, adult education program, and ministry with an enrollment that has reached 400 students.

LG has grown and changed over the years through the joint leadership of many in Guatemala and the United States who have embraced shared roles in the stewardship of the organization.  Created by Guatemalans for Guatemalans, it is led and run by Guatemalans with the support of many in the US who embrace the opportunity to bring hope to their neighbors in Guatemala.

Your Support Brings Hope for a Better Future

Love Guatemala offers uniquely structured educational opportunities like Saturday School, which is extremely popular because of its accessibility for those who work and are tending to families.  Education coupled with holistic support is a combination helping our students carve a pathway to a better future.

A Focus on Well-being

We believe it’s important to get to know our students on a personal level and serve their holistic needs. Using the seven aspects of well-being as a framework to guide our programs, we start with spiritual as the foundation of everything we do. We believe that a healthy life begins with a relationship with Jesus Christ, and we introduce our students to Him through devotionals, prayer, and discipleship.

Vocational Schools

Our vocational schools teach students employability skills they need to launch their careers and provide for themselves and their families after graduation.

Adult Education

Our adult education programs offer a chance for those who have had to leave school to return and complete their education.  From primary school to básicos (middle school) to bachillerato (high school), we challenge our students intellectually and prepare them for the future.

Holistic Support

Our holistic programs offer support for our students’ spiritual needs as well as physical, social, and emotional.

Love Guatemala needs You

It takes partnership for our school and ministry to grow and be sustained. Our staff in Guatemala work hard to care for our students and their families, and volunteers and donors in the US give of their time and resources.  Can you help us bring the hope of Jesus to our neighbors in Guatemala?
