Last week, Love Guatemala hosted their first ever Gala Night Fundraiser! The gala was to raise funds for the ministries at Love Guatemala. There was a wonderful dinner, prepared by our very own students from the cooking school. We also had live music brought to us by a group that is located in the area. During the dinner, Ben and Carlos both spoke about the gospel and about Love Guatemala. Ben talked about the vision of giving hope through the gospel and how that should be our goal. Then, Carlos gave us a little background about where Love Guatemala started years ago and then the story of how it slowly grew to be the ministry it is today. The dinner was ended by praying for Love Guatemala and its continued growth, the students that attend there, the families of the students and that we would be able to live out the sermon that was spoken.
After dinner, the students were able to showcase some of the things they have been working on. There was cake for sale made by the cooking school, art pieces from the art school, and pieces of furniture from the carpentry school.
The night ended up having a great turnout with around 300 people attending. We had students, staff, parents of students, and some people who came to support the ministry. Everyone had a great time and it helped Love Guatemala raise funds! We are looking forward to the next time we can have a Gala Night!
