My name is Allison Herron and I am from Waynesboro, Virginia. I’m 20 years old, and I am currently interning here at Love Guatemala for the summer. I am currently studying to become a Social Worker. The first time I visited Love Guatemala was last July, and I remember feeling at home. I returned once again in October and talked with Pastor Ben about the possibility of interning during the summer. At that time my mom was very sick with stage 4 breast cancer. Because of this, I had no idea if it was in God’s plan for me to spend the whole summer away from her. She passed away in December and it has been incredibly difficult for me. For a while I didn’t even think about spending the summer in Guatemala, but I began to fervently pray about my future. The Lord made it so clear to me that His timing is perfect and I was indeed meant to serve in Guatemala this summer. I feel very privileged to have this opportunity and I am excited to see how God is going to work this summer in my own heart and the heart’s of others!
