Sponsorship Program Frequently Asked Questions
Sponsoring a child or family through Indy Metro Church’s Love Guatemala ministry is an excellent way to perform an act of justice and make a difference in a someone’s life by rescuing them from a life of poverty and despair. Your sponsorship will ensure that children and families in Guatemala we work with will get an education, healthy food, love, and opportunities to hear about the love of Christ.

What people do you sponsor?
We sponsor those directly connected and involved in our Art and or Cooking Schools in Magdalena, Guatemala. They will be ministered to by our Love Guatemala Team there in the country.

How much does it cost to sponsor?$30 per month; your sponsorship will go towards housing, food, medical needs, school uniforms and book costs. Further, projects could be created from your sponsorships.

What is my role as a Love Guatemala sponsor?
When you commit to sponsoring, you play an integral part in helping to holistically care for the future and well being of your child or lady. Your regular donations and prayers directly impact your child or family and help to equip them as they receive an education and are exposed to and experience the love of Christ.

Can I visit the person I sponsor?
Absolutely! We have regular teams that come from Indy Metro Church to Guatemala. Visit www.loveguatemala.com for more information.

How does my gift reach my sponsored person?
When Indy Metro Church receives the donation for your child or family, we then send it directly to the Love Guatemala team on the ground. The funds are then exchanged for local currency and sent directly to the schools where they attend or given to those oversee the feeding or teaching to purchase supplies and other items needed for their education and well being.

How can I pray for my sponsored person?
Praying for your child/lady can be as important as your monthly donations. Many come from a religious background that is not Christianity. Although each person is taught about God and His love for them, it may take time for the child to understand the gift they have been given in Jesus. Below are prayer points for those in our sponsorship program:
Pray for understanding that they may know the sacrifice made for them and accept Christ as their Savior.
Pray for emotional, physical and spiritual healing from any situation they may have been in and that they may be dealing with each day before and after their school program.
Pray for good health, as many were malnourished when joining the program
Pray that your child will excel in school so that they can break the chains of poverty that has held their family. Pray that they will be able to learn a trade to support themselves and their family as they grow older.
Pray for any specific requests that the child or lady may send in their letter to you and pray in general for your child daily, just as you do your own children and family.
